In March of 2020 a new Aubrey Beardsley exhibition opened at Tate Britain. The co-curator of the exhibition, Stephen Calloway, thought that a cell from my film, After Beardsley, purchased by The Victoria & Albert Museum in 1998, would make an appropriate inclusion in the exhibition. It shows Aubrey Beardsley on his deathbed in a modern hospital setting and was the final image in the exhibition.
Two weeks after opening, however, Aubrey Beardsley died again - not from TB this time but the Coronavirus. Tate Britain, like every other museum and gallery in the country, was forced to close its doors to the public.
